My experience covers challenges a newborn may be experiencing with preferential head turning; infant plagiocephaly (flat head) and torticollis (tight neck); talipes (turned in feet); poor feeding and poor development or good head control in babies to infants.

My passion is working with babies and infants (aged 0 - 3 years) who appear "floppy " with increased flexibility at major joints; hate tummy time; delayed in rolling and sitting and get stuck in sitting; will not put weight through their legs in supported standing and/or present with overall global delay.

I have years of experience working with babies and children with also long term needs such as Cerebral Palsy , Down Syndrome , Osteoporosis Imperfecta and other diagnosis.

I also support children post walking to develop core strength, good balance and coordination .

Early Intervention

Supporting infants and young children to achieve their developmental milestones through targeted physiotherapy interventions.

I trained in Belfast, N.Ireland and then worked in the Royal Children's Hospital in Edinburgh immigrating to Melbourne in January 1988 to start my journey working in Early Childhood Intervention services as a paediatric physiotherapist . I have been a practitioner for over 37 years as well as a number of years in management and policy development for the sector . Over the years I have supported 100's of families and children who have experienced a range of long term disabilities and global develepmental delay . The last 20 years has also seen my experience extend to assisting many families with babies and infants experiencing short term challenges . This has also led to my passion in identifying and working with children who present with hypermobility --- often genetically predisposed.

Neurological Rehabilitation

Specialised physiotherapy for children with neurological conditions, focusing on improving movement and function.

As a paediatric physiotherapist in community in my early years I worked with many families who had children with complex disabilities, and have attended many training courses and workshops to further extend my knowledge. I have prescribed many pieces of equipment such as standing frames; seating; pushers and prescribed wheelchairs for children, as well as orthotics and sleep systems. I keep up with current equipment and resources by attending yearly equipment expos .
